
To update on the recent situation, going on in Middle East, an American judicial group is on trip to the region. They are visiting countries like, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, Saudi Arab and Syria.
It has reported that, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has asked the group to convey peace message to his Syrian counterpart. Israeli chief has expressed his concern regarding ongoing tension between the two countries. According to Keith Ellison, a group member, Olmert doubted that this tensed situation could set fire and a totally unwanted war might set in.
Few days back, while Congress Speaker Nancy Pelosi was on her trip to Syria, she conveyed similar thought to Syrian chief Bashar Assad on behalf of Israel. But later Israeli authorities denied Pelosi’s intermediation.
Olmert’s special revelation to judicial group definitely carries importance.
Besides Israel, group talked with chiefs of other West Asian countries. Group’s discussion with Lebanese and Palestinian leaders remained positive. Ellison even expressed that he is optimist regarding the political well-being of the region. But as per Ellison, USA needs to take more accommodative stance. He expects, more discussion will lead to exchange of thought and these terror torn countries will get more confidence on USA. That will make further approaching easier in convincing groups engaged in terror acts.
This visit is quite meaningful, when a serious political tussle is going on in USA regarding prospective foreign policy stance towards West Asian terror crisis. Policy maker and executives will get more diverse insight in to the subject.
