
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva won a second term in a landslide victory on Sunday. Silva is a working class leader and this is the second time he has won the elections. After winning his previous elections he successfully improved the economic conditions of Brazil and help uplift Brazil from poverty.
According to the counting he got 61% of total votes and declared as a winner. After the declaration, he told his supporters that he is going to improve a lot as compared to his previous tenure. He promised to reduce the gap between the rich and the poor. Silva also added that he is going to try his best so that Brazil may stand amongst the developed nations of the world.
In the beginning the competition was quiet tough, but the millions of poor voters who were benefited over the past three years of Silva’s rule did not let Silva to loose. Silva also overcame scandals which hampered his party’s image in the past.
The leader in the opposition highlighted the allegations of corruption and scandals but all was in vain due to the satisfaction of the public. Before the elections, his first agenda was to balance the gap between the rich and the poor, secondly, he emphasized on the improvement of basic infrastructure in fields of education, health and business.
36 year old Mr. Silva is amongst the best leaders of Latin America and he had proved it by defeating his opponents by a big difference. He is considered to be the leader of poor because he was only the one whose policies were able to check the rising prices of goods and balance the rate of inflation and interests. It was only Silva’s government which generated the maximum number of jobs and uprooted poverty up to the maximum point.
