Florida is the bastion of the Republican Party and McCain’s victory there probably makes him the most prominent Republican hopeful for the White House. Casting aside Mitt Romney’s highly successful career as a venture capitalist and savior of many companies, McCain won the ‘Super Tuesday’ battle. It shows his experience in public life and management of his steady but effective campaigning.
McCain’s scored over Romney’s flip-flop on major issues, Giuliani’s unconvincing campaign trail and Huckabee’s dark horse trademark. Florida is a key state to earmark nominee for American Presidential elections, particularly for the Republican Party. McCain’s public life and his aura and achievements in the Congress and the Senate make him the most prominent candidate among the Republicans for the post of the US President.
However, McCain is not so popular in the central and northeast America and many Republicans think him unfit to take the challenge thrown open by Hillary and Obama. The dumb and dull ears of the Bush administration, failure in Iraq, slumping economy, rising poverty, etc are all stumbling blocks for the Republican Party to enter the White House.
But it is the Florida that sprang up surprise in the last two US presidential elections. Who knows this time, Florida will spring other surprise – McCain will win 24 primaries slated next and attain wholesale Republican support to him will propel him to the chair of President of the United States of America.
