Bloodshed continues in the democratic republic of Congo that is struggling hard with rebels. Congo is the epicenter of simmering tensions for militias allied with ethnic lines who often fight for the control of a territory in the resource-rich eastern region.
In a fighting between Army and the followers of a renegade general, Laurent Nkunda, around Karuba left more than 100 killed. Those who died include 85 rebels, 16 army personnel, and 27 soldiers injured five of them seriously.
Fighting provoked for the control of Karuba, a town north-east of the provincial capital of Goma, which army took under its control yesterday.
Violence and bloodshed goes on in Congo despite the fact that 17,000 troops of UN peace keeping force are deployed there. There is no end to the brutalities that are inflicted on people and women are the worst suffers. People are helpless to flee to the refugee camps and 370,000 people left their homes since December 2006, and war cut 150,000 vulnerable people off from food aid.
