It will be hard for people to break their habit of using the ‘just another case’ tag but this somehow needs to be developed as Africa is once again set to see a new equatorial sunshine. You see, things never start from a scratch in Africa...it starts on a large scale, be it killings or drought or inflation for that matter. It always starts on a massive scale.

So adding to the world of massiveness the giants from the business world or to be precise the high-profile technology leaders from around the world are making commitments to improve technology and telecommunication in the continent.

Though I wanted to laugh my heart out for using the word ‘commitment’ in Africa but still I managed this with a grin.

In a continent where more than 300 million live in extreme poverty, where the poorest have little choice about how they make their living _ whether in the lake, or toiling deep in gold mines, breathing poisonous pesticides on flower farms and rubber plantations.

In a continent where millions die as a consequence of invasions and wars sponsored by the major powers trying to gain control of the region’s mineral wealth.

In a continent where...forget it...the list will go on and on and on...

There’s nothing wrong with making profits in Africa. Or is it? People are doing the same for ages now...China, France, US of A, and all the majors of the world. For them, doing business in Africa is not a problem because there is no corruption. Corruption is not a problem, because there government hardly rules.

But while we are talking about internet that can change the perception about the continent and will surely break the ‘just another case’ tag...I feel like using it one more time.120210
