Benazir Bhutto, “Daughter of the East” — the first woman to head the government of an Islamic State, pledged to transform Pakistani society by focusing attention towards ‘Democracy‘ — died with all those unaccomplished dreams and hopes that were bestowed to her by father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
Benazir, as unique personality as her name, had the courage to face the male dominated politics. She was indeed very powerful and strong and was in fact a great threat to all the so-called strong men, who finally proved themselves coward by assassinating a lady, who wished to fight for democracy by all fair means!
The situation in Pakistan is indeed a moment of complete darkness. But then, this darkness brings along a new hope, a new movement, which will transform the country and will pay a homage to all those who offered their lives and fought till their last breath for peace and harmony to prevail by all means.
Benazir Bhutto was a great politician, who would be remembered in the history of world politics simply because she lived up to what she stood for and was perhaps even assassinated for that.
