As the monsoon hits South Western Pakistan and sweeps away properties owned by people in, angry victims riot against the local administration for slow aid. The lost properties and corpses are the greatest fears as the water starts to go down. The locals broke into the mayor’s office in Turbat, Pakistan as a protest.
On Friday, police fired tear gas shells against the angry mob for their protests who walked several miles through chest deep water. However, they failed to disperse the angry mob of flood victims in this region. This kind of widespread damage occurred after the cyclone Yemyin caused severe damage to this economically backward region of Pakistan.

The protesters said they were only given packets of biscuits and bottles of water as flood relief. This is very minimal and it will hardly keep a stranded victim alive. There are people still stranded on rooftops along with their animals. Even though the situation is out of control, the Pak government can at least try to airdrop more food and water to keep the victims alive. I think there is a definite lack of effort on the part of the govt.

Every family has either one or two members missing. People are stranded all over. Military choppers are airdropping supplies the best they can. The sad part is more than 800,000 people are stranded with this disaster. Oh well, that’s the way things are done in a third world country. All we can do is pray for the victims. Hopefully they will be saved and get more rations soon enough.
